As I recall, there is no authorization on any health plan in the U.S. for a 14 to 16 year old to screen for testicular cancer. Do they have that in Australia? Doesn't appear to be so. Ew. I'm sure he will be screened frequently for rectal cancer in the near future.

Former Jehovah’s Witness jailed for child sex crimes
by Tahoe inhttps://www.perthnow.com.au/news/crime/former-jehovahs-witness-jailed-for-child-sex-crimes-ng-b88859067z.
a former jehovah’s witness who sexually assaulted three young boys says his homosexual inclinations were repressed by his religion and manifested in his crimes.. gavin andrew lamont, 46, was jailed for four years today for assaulting two vulnerable teenagers in the early to mid-90s and another boy about 20 years later.. lamont encouraged the teens to give him massages and suggested he needed help checking for testicular cancer.. district court judge linda petrusa said lamont, who knew he was homosexual from about age 13, had significant cognitive distortions around sex because of his religious beliefs.. .
she said the victims, who were aged between 14 and 16, were vulnerable because of their youth and lack of sophistication.. judge petrusa sentenced lamont to four years behind bars for indecently dealing with a child and four counts of indecent assault.. lamont was kicked out of the mundaring congregation in 1997 after one of his victims complained to other members, but was reinstated after doing counselling with elders.. he was kicked out of the congregation for a second time in 2014 after another victim made a complaint.. lamont’s crimes came to the attention of police last year through the royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse.. defence lawyer seamus rafferty described the case as complex, saying lamont struggled with his sexuality because his religion told him it was a sin.. he told the court the church was the essence of lamont’s being and said his client tried to repress his sexuality and ended up behaving in “naïve, unsophisticated and pathetic ways”.. lamont’s parents and sister are all living with complicated health issues and rely heavily on his help and care.. mr rafferty asked judge petrusa to give lamont a conditional suspended jail term, saying he was the glue that was holding his family together.. “this is a case for the exercise of mercy, its mercy towards them (his family) and nobody else,” he said.. judge petrusa accepted a prison term would be tough on lamont’s family but said an immediate jail term was the only appropriate punishment.. in a statement to the court, one of the victims said he felt that he was “forever stained” by lamont’s crime.. he said the abuse had made him self-conscious in his dealings with his own child.. lamont will be eligible for parole after spending two years behind bars.. .

Current Jehovah's Witnesses pay close attention! This will be your fate if you don't accept the reality that the future they promise you is a man made control scam. Get out!

How to deal with struggling with the doctrines
by Dval inthis is my first post.
i'm still a jw but am inactive.
im struggling with the fact that i agree with some of the doctrines (i,e, the stance on the trinity, there is no hell) but i disagree with a lot of things (i,e, men can't have beards, women have to wear skirts).

Doubt has been criticized by the WT so much that it smacks of Apostasy to them. Doubt is healthy. They teach their truth is absolute truth, until the next "New Light" suits them. If you were a Witness 20 years ago they wouldn't teach half the "truth" they teach now. Embrace your doubt and look into what this organization really stands for, molestation coverups, money seeking and control. They have taught you that a glass of water with just one drop of poison is deadly, take the hint. Coming or going? Get going.

Keep thinking clearly and acting sensibly and they will either listen or shun you. Its the way of the cult. Sorry. Keep it on the down-low till you're out of there so you can retain their company now and then if you desire.

Could The Governing Body Harboring Pedophiles In High Positions Among Them?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini'm sure most are familiar with the greenlee's story floating around the internet.
so what if some members of the governing body have been accused of molesting a child and used the 2 witness rule to silence a accusation?
so could it be that because some high up watchtower corporation person/persons has clung to the rule because it save's his corporate ass.

Just because something is possible doesn't make it so. I'm glad no one is making baseless accusations against particular GB members at this time. It is so good that TV programs and lawsuits are empowering those who only know for sure, victims, to come forward. When they do I will accept it and not before. Its not because of denial, its because of common decency. I know that one past GB member was accused but no legal action was taken back then. The club hadn't been exposed yet. Say what you will, I will continue to avoid rage coloring my opinions.

I wonder if there are many JW's who watch anything remotely as intellectual as A&E. Nicely done. Ironic its a Russian pirate site with the video.

Favourite Quirky / Low Budget / Non-Mainstream Movies
by Simon inso the recent topic about film franchises got me thinking.
sure, we all love the big budget, mainstream releases that are so successful they spawn never-ending (it sometimes seems) sequels.
we could watch marvel and star-wars movies for the rest of our lives (and we might just ...).. but y'know what i love?

Robinson Caruso on Mars, yep it was fun. I saw it in a drive-in with my family when I was a boy.
I love;
THZ1138 1971 George Lucas' seminal work with Duval. trailer
Duel 1971 , by Spielberg. (a student film made for TV) Dennis Weaver is a man driving alone in a little red car menaced by a big rig truck that wants to kill him by running him off the road. It's hard to believe such a simple idea could build such tension. Available on Youtube trailer
Los Ultimos Dais: The Last Days 2013 . Awesome movie. Eng. Subs. 2013. A mysterious epidemic spreads across the planet; humanity develops an irrational fear of open spaces which causes death within seconds. trailer
41 2012, Australian indie about a guy who finds a hole in the floor of a motel room that leads to yesterday. He attempts to change time and learns something life changing. No one is beautiful in this movie and he is the most "every man" you could ever see. Its unique. trailer
The Navigator 1988, not the Disney "Flight of the Navigator". Men from the time of the black plague in England enter a cave on a quest to find divine intervention in keeping the scourge from spreading to their village. When they exit the cave they are in the 20th century, NZ of all places. They are on a mission to place a church bell on a cathedral. Its very good. trailer
Anyone heard of these?

Would you?
by Half banana inwould you join a religion which punishes you if you later on change your mind and choose to leave it?.
would you join a religion which claims to be the only one guided by god and yet has always got their prophetic utterances entirely wrong?.
would you join a religion which changes its beliefs every few years?.

If you even know about the "Make Sure" book, you are either very old or found one in a second hand shop. Even though scriptures were misapplied, the book did gather most scriptures on any subject. It was too comprehensive for the dumb'd down version of JW's to use so they stopped printing it and replaced it. The Reasoning From the Scriptures took its place but it was obliterated by "New Light". It was heavy on explanation over scripture and died a hard death. People have already suggested the next best things.
